A board-certified Maryland plastic surgeon, Dr. D. Paul Buhrer believes in providing exemplary care to his patients so that they can feel as good about their outward appearance as they do about their inner beauty and vitality. He has worked hard to develop a high degree of surgical skill and he takes the time both before and after surgery to get to know his patients so he can develop a lifelong relationship.
A native of Chatham, New Jersey, Dr. Buhrer earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Tulane University in New Orleans. He stayed at Tulane for medical school, graduating in 1982 and completing his general surgery residency at Tulane University Affiliated Hospitals.
Dr. Buhrer then moved to Galveston, Texas to complete his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The University of Texas. During his residency, Dr. Buhrer distinguished himself as a specialist in the innovative treatment of pediatric burns. He then completed his cosmetic surgery training with world-renowned Dr. Baker in Miami, Florida. He served as Chief of Plastic Surgery at North Arundel Hospital.
In addition to earning board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Buhrer is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the John Staige Davis Society of Plastic Surgeons.
David H. Lowe, M.D.
A valuable member of our team of cosmetic plastic surgeons in Maryland, Dr. David H. Lowe is respected within the local medical community and by the patients in his care at Plastic Surgery Specialists.
Dr. Lowe was born in Washington, D.C. and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He began medical school at Chicago Medical School and transferred to Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. After graduation, he completed post-graduate training in general surgery through Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his plastic surgery residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Lowe also went on to serve as an attending plastic surgeon at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and also completed a hand surgery fellowship at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Lowe's extensive training in both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery techniques helps him to create artistry in the surgical procedures he performs. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of professional societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the John Staige Davis Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland, and the Northeast American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
Daniel Laughlin, M.D.
A board-certified Maryland plastic surgeon, Dr. Daniel Laughlin is dedicated to providing high-quality cosmetic care in a warm and welcoming environment. With both advanced surgical skill and a comforting "bedside manner," Dr. Laughlin enjoys taking the time to get to know his patients and help them achieve their ideal appearance.
A native of Virginia, Dr. Laughlin attended Hampden-Sydney College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science. Soon after, he enrolled in the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. After graduating in 1985, he completed his general surgery residency at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland and completed his residency in plastic surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Laughlin also served as Chief of Surgery at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.
In addition to his board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Laughlin is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the John Staige Davis Society of Plastic Surgeons.
