Dr. Kent V. Hasen
If you have stubborn fat and/or loose skin in your lower abdomen, you might consider a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck will remove excess skin, fat, stretch marks and it will tighten separated, weak abdominal muscles. This creates a slimmer, flatter, more toned abdomen.
Dr. Hasen uses epidural anesthesia or deep IV sedation for tummy tucks. The procedure usually lasts about three hours. Dr. Hasen specializes in the "no drain" tummy tuck, which allows for a faster, more comfortable recovery. This method removes the need for drains or pressure garments after the surgery and allows you walk soon after surgery. Because there are no drains there are no scars at the drain site. Dr. Hasen emphasizes scar reduction and utilizes a low "bikini" incision. A tummy tuck can be combined with other procedures, such as breast augmentation, liposuction, or a hysterectomy.
After the tummy tuck, there will be some mild swelling and bruising for the first week. You will be able to return to many of your normal activities after a week and return to work shortly thereafer.
